Prosper Ogum Nartey, the coach of Asante Kotoko FC, receives questioning from highly regarded Ghanaian sports journalist Patrick Osei Agyeman, also known as Countryman Songo. Songo criticizes the coach’s belief that he is a top coach given the team’s standing.
With just two victories, three losses, and four draws thus far in the Ghana Premier League [GPL], Kotoko is in 14th place. This is a dismal start for the team. After losing to Dreams FC and Nsoatreman FC back-to-back, Countryman Songo begins to doubt the coach’s abilities.
With his team’s current circumstances, the journalist claims Prosper Ogum cannot continue to declare himself a great coach, saying, “If you claim the coach is well vested, then he should coach the club to win matches.”
“You can’t claim to be rebuilding a team and be taking them into relegation,” he said, adding that someone needs to question the team’s tactics and put the coach on his toes. The team’s 14th-place position is quite poor.
