Diana Asamoah, a prominent gospel artist in Ghana, has revealed that she has composed a campaign song for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president of the Republic of Ghana, as the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The song was written before the NPP presidential primaries, she said, but she was nervously waiting for the winner to just add their name to finish it. When Bawumia emerged as the winner, she declared the song to be finished.
1Family Radio closely monitored Diana’s interview with Okay FM, during which she refuted any claims that she had used Bawumia’s name before his appointment. She vehemently maintained that she didn’t sing anyone’s name in the song until the winner was announced. She told show presenter Abeiku Santana, “I would have used your name if you had won.”
The gospel singer has consistently demonstrated her unwavering support for the NPP while performing campaign songs for the party during President Nana Addo Akuffo-Addo Dankwah’s time serving as its nominee.
