Highlife superstar Kuami Eugene has declared that he is unaffected by trolls on social media, claiming that financial strains are a major cause of these disparaging remarks.
He admits that he is periodically the recipient of hurtful remarks from others, but he has made the decision to ignore them.
In a Hitz FM interview that 1Family Radio aired, he mentioned that there is a “Kuami Eugene factor” at work, meaning that some individuals attack him without giving a good explanation.
He feels there is nothing wrong with him if someone were to examine his behavior and determine what he has done to warrant such criticism. He went on to say that a lot of people who disparage him have never even met him in reality.
“You can decide to sit down and analyze what Kuami Eugene has done to the people, and they will say some of the things they say about him. And you won’t find anything. Most of them haven’t even seen me before,’’ he said.
He also believes that part of the reason he gets cyberbullying is because of the critics financial struggles. pointing out that although the public may think he’s enjoying a lavish lifestyle with plenty of money and fancy cars, they are unaware of the difficulties he suffers.
“Sometimes the pressure in the country is a factor when you feel this young boy from Fadama is suddenly with a lot of money, pushing a fleet of cars. From behind, you may think I’m enjoying life, but I have my own issues. It’s not my fault that God has chosen to shine his light on me at a very young age,’’ Eugene noted.
According to Kuami Eugene, some people find relief from stress by casting hostility towards him. Although he points out that many people encounter this kind of trolling, he could be an easier target because of his young features.
He acknowledged that, given his age, people might assume he is quite modest, but he makes it clear that humility is not his only quality. He used to be affected by these remarks, but he has since grown more resilient and is no longer concerned by them.
Maybe for some people, their way of releasing stress is to attack me, and it’s not just me; a lot of people receive it. It’s just that I look young, and they see me as a child. They expect me to be super humble, but that’s not me. It used to get to me, but not anymore,’’ he added.
