Ernest Owusus Bempah, the Deputy National Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has come under fire from artist manager and entertainment analyst Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bullgod.
His reaction follows an accused NPP member’s assault on the panelists of UTV’s United Showbiz during a live broadcast on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
Bullgod revealed that the NPP communicator had earlier threatened him over the phone during an interview on Morning Starr that was monitored by 1Family Radio.
However, he made it crystal clear that none of the program’s panelists would be intimidated by the recent attack that was launched against them.
“We will not be intimidated in any way, especially those of us on the panel, because this is an attack on our freedom to express ourselves,’’ he said.
“Everybody that sits on that show is in danger, and we will not allow this to be swept under the carpet. We won’t allow that,’’ he added.
He continued by saying that there had been other situations where people had threatened the show’s management in the past.
Bulldog recounted one particular instance where Ernest Owusu Bempah threatened him over the phone.
“These things have been happening; there are few times we have heard them, and they have been calling management.’’
“I don’t know if early this year or late last year, somebody like Owusu Bempah, the guy who was at Ghana Gas, called into the show to actually threaten me,’’ he disclosed.
Bullgod said that there had been a buildup of such instances, so the latest raid on the UTV studios was unforeseen.
