Six years after entering the music industry, Ghanaian singer-songwriter Sefa has revealed why she has failed to put out an album.
Sefa said it is depressing that only one or two songs from an album usually become hits while the others go unheard by Ghanaians in an interview with Accra FM that was monitored by 1Family Radio.
“Even in Ghana, when we release one song, how many people stream it? So even though albums add to my catalogue as a musician, I think it is a waste of good music because people just concentrate on one song and leave the rest,’’ she said.
According to Sefa, she spends a lot of time crafting her music because she wants to write evergreen, outstanding tunes that people will enjoy.
“I can listen to an album, and it has a lot of amazing songs, but Ghanaians do not have the time to do so.’’
“I wouldn’t want to waste my good songs or efforts on something that people will not enjoy, so that is why I actually take my time when releasing an album or a song,’’ she said.
