Veteran Ghanaian musician and songwriter, Okyeame Kwame, has come under fire for a tweet in which he admonished Ghanaians to assume responsibility for improving both themselves and their country.
His tweet was in response to a query from well-known media figure Naa Ashorkor about who should fix the nation.
Okyeame Kwame wrote in a tweet sighted by 1Family Radio that if we all start brightening up the places we find ourselves, this country will be a better place.
“You, Naa, you will fix the country. Starting with your health, then your mindset, then your family, then your work, If we all start a small flame,’’ parts of his tweets read.
“All the names you have mentioned can also light a small flame. However, Ghana cannot be fixed by one man. No messiah in politics,’’ he added.
However, this tweet did not sit well with many internet users, who compared his comment to the “Fix Yourself” campaign that was launched in 2021 following the “fix the country” movement.
