Ace Ghanaian media personality and sex therapist, Akumaa Mama Zimbi, has touched on some of the difficulties she encounters as a result of her sexuality-education programs.
She claims that she receives calls from pastors, the elderly, and even prominent members of society who are critical of her for producing a sexually graphic program that they believe could corrupt the morals of children in the country.
However, Mama Zimbi said that she is not bothered by these critiques in an interview with Berla Mundi on the Day Show, which was monitored by 1Family Radio.
“Sex education shows have to be done well. If it must be done, it must be done well. And you couples are married, so that is why you have to do it well,’’ she noted.
“I have been criticized a lot, with all due respect, from the top to the bottom. I had insults from men of God, elderly people, kings, and even queens.’’
“Everybody is asking, Who is this woman? Who is this Dangbe woman who wants to spoil our children?’’ She said.
The sex therapist claimed that her sex education programs are designed to teach couples how to preserve their marriages, with an emphasis on the counseling and sexual part that has recently wrecked most marriages.
“But I am not saying go and follow someone’s husband. I said, in a relationship, close your thighs, wear your pants, and zip up. But when you marry, you have to do it. You should be able to be submissive to your husband,’’ Akumaa Mama Zimbi remarked.
