Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia reportedly claims he feels completely at ease attending church.
Even though he is a Muslim, he claims that because their principles are similar, he has no reservations when he must visit a church.
The Vice President stated during his speech at the 23rd General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, which 1Family Radio covered, that he feels at home in the church since Jesus Christ is at its very foundation.
He said, “Many people wonder why I feel comfortable in the church.’’
“The answer is simple. I am comfortable in the church because Jesus Christ is the center of the church. As a Muslim, I am very comfortable with Jesus Christ.’’
“I find many similarities in the Jesus Christ presented in the Bible and in the Quaran,’’ he noted.
He furthered, “We Muslims believe in the virgin birth of Jesus; we believe in the holy book.’’
“We all believe that Jesus Christ will come back and defeat the anti-Christ and save the world.’’
He consequently advised both religions to emphasize their shared doctrines rather than their distinctive ones, stressing that both had a common foe in Satan.
“Focus on the commonalities and not the differences; our battle is with Satan and not with each other. And so, I am very comfortable in the church,’’ he asserted.
