Ghanaian reggae musician and radio presenter Blakk Rasta has reacted to a statement made by singer Efya Nokturnal’s mother.
Madam Nana Adwoa Awindor bemoaned how her daughter, Efya, has lost several deals as a result of the “drug addict” label she has been stigmatized with in an interview with Joyprime.
Blakk Rasta criticized Nana Awindor for making this claim, calling it a mere public relations ploy.
He claims that rather than cautioning her child about her despicable lifestyle, she is instead encouraging it.
“Do you know how much your daughter disgraces herself night and day?’’ He quizzed during his show on 3FM, which was monitored by 1Family Radio.
“She recently was in London, and we all heard what happened in there, but we kept it down because it is not in anybody’s interest to talk ill about anyone. What do we gain from that?
He continued, “She could be my sister, and I would be proud to have her as a sister because she is talented. I believe that if I were part of the family, we would’ve tried to do something better than these PR gimmicks that are so irresponsible.’’
“My daughter is talented, and anytime we try to promote her, people spread negative news about her. What negative news can you point out?’’ He asked.
“She is a drug addict. It is a condition that can be dealt with; it doesn’t mean she is useless.’’
“Own up to it. This PR gimmick is so lame and useless, it doesn’t make sense. Brutalize me with the truth rather than pampering me with lies.’’
Blakk Rasta added, “Look very soon; if you’re not careful, we’re going to bury Efya, and then you’re going to come out crying. Please, your daughter is sick. Find a way of dealing with it,’’ he advised.
