Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, the Dormaahene, has stated that he is unfazed by disparages hurled at him because of his opinions about events in the nation.
He asserts that he will keep criticizing the government till he notices improvements in Ghanaians’ standard of living.
The chief made this statement on August 4, 2023, while speaking to some residents of Drobo in the Bono region, which was followed by 1Family Radio.
The chief claimed that he was unable to fathom why the government would agree to contracts for the exploration of the country’s resources when the nation receives very little benefit from them while private individuals reap enormous profits.
‘’We explore for gold in Adansi, Tarkwa, Prestat, the Okyenhene’s town, and even now in the northern regions of the nation, but we only receive 7% of the profits from these explorations; the other 93% are confiscated by outside parties,’’ he said.
‘’I would talk till this situation changed. I’d continue speaking. It is crucial that Ghanaians use these resources to their advantage.’’
‘’ Ghanaians must have a better standard of living. If nothing changes, Agyemang Badu II will keep speaking until something happens,’’ he added.
