Well-known Padmore D Blogger, real name Jeffrey Anim, spoke up during a discussion on Lystup Show on 1Family Radio hosted by Chocolate regarding signing contracts in the music industry.
He expressed his dissatisfaction and added, “Most artists don’t learn; they all rely on the label, which handles the majority of the artist’s work for them. Being signed to a label greatly aids an artist.
When asked if a contract may be resigned, he responded that it depended on the parties involved; the management should be aware of the reasons for the signing, and if the management is not satisfied with the action, they can leave.
After leaving a record, he came to the conclusion that just 1–2% of Ghanaian artists can remain relevant. He cited Kelvyn Boy and Fameye as one of these artists.
An artist like Fameye learned when he was with OGB Records, but other artists do not learn because they know that the label will help them do all the work.
