Adam Bonaa, a security analyst, has shared his two cents about the leaked tape of a plot to oust George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector General of Police, between some high-ranking NPP officials and a police commissioner.
In a now-viral tape, the police commissioner, who has been identified as Mensah, was overheard instructing the NPP regional chairman that the IGP must be removed in order for the party to “Break the 8.”
The commissioner predicts that George Dampare will prevent the party from winning the general election in 2024.
“Alhaji, my only problem is this current IGP. If we make a mistake and take him to the elections, it will not help us. It will not help us at all, and I will not mind if the position is not given to me but that man is changed; because he will not help us, he will not help us at all… he won’t help the party at all,’’ the commissioner noted.
Reacting to this, Adam has stated that this plot by the police commissioner to remove the IGP is despicable and shameful.
Speaking in an interview on Starr FM, monitored by 1Family Radio, the security analyst indicated that the police commissioner is unfit for office.
“It is shameful that senior police officers are trying to remove one of their own in such a nasty way. And essentially indicting a body that is meant to support the referee in upholding the integrity of our democracy and election system,” he said.
“So in my opinion, it should be referred to as a day of disgrace. I will say that these top police officials don’t deserve to remain in service, not a day after today, after listening to some of the tape.’’
The straightforward explanation, he said, is that the Alhaji they were speaking with asked several questions that, typically, some of us might even be asking.
