Former Black Stars midfielder and captain, Stephen Leroy Appiah has stated that the Black Stars of Ghana must be run by people with experience to build up the team.
According to him, most of the former players of the team have insights on how to lead the team and they must be given the chance to do so.
Speaking in an interview on Sompa FM monitored by 1Family Radio, Stephen stated that football is not run with big grammar but with experience and knowledge about the game.
“legends and past players are not allowed to get involved in the football administration body. What I have realized is that football is run by footballers irrespective of the grammar or English you speak,’’ he noted.
“Football is about insights, I went to Italy without speaking Italian but I was able to comprehend whatever the coach said.’’
He furthered that he prays that one day, a footballer with experience and insights about the game will get to lead the senior national team.
“It is my prayer that one day, not necessarily me, one of us will get to head the team and we will throw our unflinching support behind him,” Stephen said.
