Celestine Donor, a well-known gospel singer from Ghana, refuted rumors that she was having weight-loss surgery, saying instead that she would rather invest her money in her spirit.
Speaking in an interview with a sisterhood station, Hitz FM, which was sighted by 1Family Radio on April 25, 2024, she said that if weight loss surgery is performed for medical reasons, she finds nothing wrong with it.
Being an artist means that you are constantly in public, so you want to look good. After reading a lot about it, I came to the conclusion that occasionally these surgeries are advised. Therefore, I wouldn’t say that I wouldn’t try anything,” she remarked.
Celestine Donkor, on the other hand, declared that she would invest money in her soul rather than use it to heal her body.
Personally, I would invest in my soul rather than my body if I had GH¢40,000 or GH¢50,000 to work on it because this body would eventually die.
“Your body, no matter how slender and exquisitely sculpted, will eventually be buried beneath the earth. Your soul is the one that has no death wish. Therefore, we spend a lot of money trying to look attractive, but our souls look awful,” she remarked.
Celestine stated her desire to use her resources for long-term effects, indicating that she would rather help underprivileged orphans than splurge on makeovers.
“However, even if you seem OK, you still chose to set aside about GH¢50,000 to be in shape for people? I would not consider that to be an option. I would rather use that GH¢50,000 to help some underprivileged orphans. Since this body will eventually expire, she said .
