Flagbearer hopeful of the NPP, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong has disclosed that it is inhuman to criminalize homosexuality in the country.
He stated that although the Bible hates homosexuality, criminalizing the act is obviously not the right way to go.
Speaking in an interview on Metro TV monitored by 1Fmily Radio, the flagbearer hopeful noted however that, he is against homosexuality because the Bible abhors it but then it shouldn’t be criminalized.
“I am very conservative, and although I respect the rights of people, I will not support this kind of behavior. However, we must not illegalize or advocate it. It shouldn’t be in our faces,’’ he stated.
Mr. Agyapong indicated that we should speak against LGBTQ because it is against moral standard. “We have to speak against it because God did not create Adam and Adam but he created Adam and Eve,’’ he furthered.
He added, “although I do not condone such acts, I am not ready to part of the argument that says they should be eradicated from the surface of the earth.’’
According to him, it is the responsibility of the leaders of this country to advice the younger generation against homosexuality.
He stated, “we have paramount social issues in Ghana like chemical abuse and the negative effects of social media, it is therefore imperative for the leaders of this country to advice, lead by example and set the right pattern for the youth.’’
