Deborah Owusu-Bonsu, a Ghanaian media personality and model professionally known as Sister Derby has hinted on how she made money from her messy breakup with Medikal in 2018.
Sister Derby, in 2018 released a song titled ‘Kakalika love’ after her breakup with breakup with Medikal. According to her, some women were enraged by the fact she didn’t suffer any depression after her breakup.
Speaking to Sika Osei in an interview on Lynx TV monitored by 1Family Radio, the model stated that some women got angry that displeased that she was happy. According to Sister Derby, she was fetching GH¢1000 almost every week from her ‘Kakalika Love’ song. The model furthered that she was sponsored by someone who loved her song and her brand.
She explained that she has already recorded the ‘Kakalika love’ but was just waiting for the right time to release it. Her brother, Kubolor encouraged her to release the song after her breakup but then she was hesitant because she didn’t know what Ghanaians will think of her. But he still insisted and she had no choose but to release the song.
Sister Derby noted that she was able to make million of cedis from the song. Citing Adele as an example, she stated that Adele made an album about her breakup and therefore she doesn’t understand why some women should get angry because she made money from her breakup.
She indicated that there are several ways to express pain, some people go through depression but she decided to make money from her pain.
