For imprisoning two of his employees who were reportedly stealing from his restaurant, Pizzaman CEO has received harsh criticism from media personality Abeiku Santana.
Seidu Karim and Rashid Abdullah, two workers of Pizzaman have been sentenced to five years imprisonment for robbing twenty boxes of chicken wings and two litres of cooking oil from the restaurant’s storehouse in Nyankyerenease located in Kumasi.
Reacting to this, Abeiku Santana has asked Pizzaman CEO the sense in jailing poor workers for stealing from his storehouse while parading himself as a youth leader.
This pizzaman parades himself as a youth leader and so on and so forth. Your employees were sentenced to five years in prison each for stealing 20 boxes of chicken wings. What purpose does it serve? Why not take it from their pay if a poor person’s child stole while they were employed?’’ he quizzed during his radio program monitored by 1Family Radio.
“They were sentenced to five years in prison for each of them because of chicken wings, which they did not steal all at once, it was accumulated stolen items. Clap for yourself; you did a good job. You are not a guy at all.’’
He proceeded by saying that while he does not support criminal activity, he believes that the CEO should not have ordered the employees to be arrested and imprisoned for the offense.
“We do not encourage or condone criminal activity or theft, but when you consider the young guys who received five-year sentences for chicken wings, you can see that you made no effort. Don’t come and speak to the youth again and make claims to be a motivational speaker,’’ Abeiku added.
