The National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Yammin has taken a swipe at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over a statement he made.
Speaking as the guest of honor at this year’s Africa Development Conference at the Harvard University in the US over the weekend, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia urged Africans to break from the shackles of their impossibility mindset and embrace the mindset of possibility.
“It is time for us to figure out the best ways to be masters of our destiny, chart our own path and develop on our own terms. It is possible,’’ he stated.
Reacting to this statement by the vice president, Yammin has asked him to tell us what he has accomplished over the past six years to qualify him to give such advice.
According to Yammin, Bawumia has not achieved anything groundbreaking in his own country so how then can he advice the whole African continent.
“Charity begins at home, what at all has the vice president achieved in Ghana that has turned the impossibility into possibility under his administration, that qualifies him to advice the whole African continent?’’ he quizzed in an interview monitored by 1Family Radio.
He furthered that Bawumia is not the right person to give such advice because he has nothing to show for his six years in power.
“What has the vice president done that qualifies him to advice Africans? Where is Ghana beyond aid? The country is now struggling and nothing has been done about it.”
According to him, the speech by Bawumia is just a mere political talk. “we shouldn’t just talk with the aim of just talking for people to know us,’’ he said.
