Joyce bawah Mogtari, a Ghanaian lawyer and a special aide to Former President John Dramani Mahama has demanded for an apology from UTV over an alleged fake artwork on their social media feeds which was attributed to the former president.
Recently, an alleged quote from Former President John Mahama in which he accused the people of the Ashanti Region of being sentimental towards the NPP.
“Don’t be like the Ashanti Region. They are emotionally attached to the NPP that they don’t think before voting for them. Don’t be like them. Your party and your son have led Ghana into the ditch, be bold to vote against them. Be different. Come back to the NDC in the 2024 and we won’t neglect you this time,’’ the artwork reads.
However, Joyce has rubbished this quote describing it as a ploy to tarnish Mahama’s image and to incite hatred against him.
In a statement she issued on Friday, April 14, 2023, she stated that the Former President has never made such statement during any of his campaign tours.
“Former President John Mahama has never made any such statement, either on his campaign rounds or to UTV,’’ the statement sighted by 1Family Radio noted.
“We strongly believe this is another propaganda to trigger disaffection for the former president, and we demand a retraction and apology from UTV,’’ she wrote.
She continued that Mahama is still focused on building the Ghana we deserve and this misinformation cannot distract him from it.
“Former President is focused on his ‘Building the Ghana We Want Together’ campaign and this dirty propaganda will not distract him,’’ she indicated.
