Mr. Kwaku Agyeman Manu, the Health Minister has disclosed that measures are being put in place to address the nationwide shortage of vaccines.
According to him, the Ministry of Health has paid $6.4 million to the UNICEF in order for the country to be supplied with vaccines.
Speaking in parliament on the 9th of March, 2023, monitored by 1Family Radio, the minister assured that this nationwide shortage of vaccines won’t happen again.
He noted that the nationwide shortage of vaccines is as a result of the poor performance of the cedi towards the last quarter of 2022.
The minister however stated that a week ago the ministry placed an order for the vaccines with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and they are also working with the agency to quicken the process of securing adequate stock of the vaccines.
“I can assure the house that within two weeks or three weeks the vaccines will be supplied to the country, all things being equal,” he added.
