The Member of Parliament for the Efutu Constituency in the Central Region, Mr. Alexander Afenyo-Markin has indicated that the Akuffo-Addo led government has been very truthful to Ghanaians.

According to him, the president has been able to deliver on all the promises he made before he assumed power as the president.

Making a submission in parliament which was monitored by 1Family Radio, the Deputy Majority leader indicated that prior being voted into power in 2016, President Akuffo-Addo promised Ghanaians Free SHS and he has been able to initiate this policy despite its capital intensive.

He added that the government initiated the Free SHS policy to help build the future of students who might not have been able to complete Senior High School.

The lawmaker asserted that the president has reduced the tariffs on utility like electricity by 30% to enable Ghanaians have some relief in the use of utilities.

Mr. Markin furthered that the Akuffo-Addo led administration scrapped so many taxes paid by Ghanaians to assuage the burdens on them and this is something the NDC government wasn’t able to do.

“Regardless of the COVID-19 setback and the current economic mess triggered by the Russian-Ukraine war, the president is still trying to deliver on his promises,’’ he concluded.
