Henry Osei Akoto, a former national organizer of the National Democratic Congress [NDC], has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo over the recurring power outages in the country.
Expressing his unhappiness with the way the government of the day has addressed issues of electricity management in the country, he pleaded with the president to act immediately.
Speaking during a recent protest in Kumasi of the Ashanti region, which was sighted by 1Family Radio, residents and members of the NDC demonstrated against the persistent power cuts. He said that it is time to respond to the power crisis in the country.
He also complained about how badly businesses are being affected by the power cuts.
What we need from the President, ECG, GRIDCo, and all the self-owned power producers is power. Businesses are collapsing. We need power,” he expressed in frustrationn..
The protest was also aimed at drawing the government’s attention to the detrimental impact of the erratic power supply on the economy.
