The Independent Examination Committee of the General Legal Council has disclosed that more than 900 students have satisfactorily passed the examination.
Among them are 449 law students who were initially turned down from the Ghana Law School two years ago but were ultimately admitted following a number of rallies and petitions.
The leadership of the Ghana School of Law’s 2023 class of students conveyed pleasure with the success rate for this year’s call to the bar examination.
Odupong Agyapong Atta-Agyapong, former SRC president of the Ghana School of Law, predicted that this year’s ceremony would see the greatest number of people called to the bar in an exclusive interview with Citi News that was monitored by 1Family Radio.
“It’s exciting how students are reacting to their WhatsApp pages and statuses. For the first time, we are going to have over 900 students called to the Ghana bar. It’s quite historic given the turn of events in the past,’’ he said.
He additionally encouraged the students who failed to make it on the list to remain unwavering and strive towards getting called for the mini-call in March 2024.
“It’s not the end of the road. We have a mini-call, and it’s expected that next year these students will be offered the opportunity to sit for the supplementary exams, and when they are successful, they will be called,’’ he added.
