Nana Yaa Brefo, an award-winning journalist and show host at Angel FM, has descended heavily on two flagbearer aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over their campaign promises.
She claims that some of these politicians deceive Ghanaians by making unrealistic promises because they believe Ghanaians are gullible and ignorant.
Speaking on a recent edition of her show, she lambasted the former Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen, and Vice President Bawumia for making outrageous promises to Ghanaians in their bid to solicit votes.
“Ghana isn’t independent yet, and yet you Alan, go about promising to pay constituency executives because you regard us like fools and you expect us to believe you.’’ She fumed on her show, monitored by 1 Family Radio.
“Alhaji Bawumia, on the other hand, has pledged to appoint ten party members in each constituency. They will endorse and run campaigns for you based on your promises, and when they apply for jobs, you will start to inquire about their qualifications.’’
“However, it’s not their fault. They have all noted that most Ghanaians are not smart, but we have all become more enlightened since then,’’ she said.
“What kind of absurd nation is this? Is this how elections are run in other nations?” she raged.
“How, why, and with what funds do you pledge to pay constituency executives? Why not start it right away if you can pay them? Nana Yaa quizzed.
