A memorandum in which the president of Ghana demanded for the Curriculum Vitae (CV) of some officials of the EC has leaked online.
Per the memo, which has leaked on social media, the officials were expected to submit their CVs via email by May 29, 2023.
The memo was shared by Rockson-Nelson Dafeamkpor, the Member of Parliament for the South Dayi Constituency.
“I bring you greetings from the Corporate Head Office of the Commission,’’ the memo sighted by 1Family Radio noted.
“This comes to inform you that the Office of the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, has requested for the Curricula Vitae of Senior Management of State Agencies from Director and above.’’
“You are therefore requested to submit your CV by noon today, 29th May, 2023 through mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org for the attention of the commission,’’ the memo read.
However, according to Rockson, this request made by the president is an insult to the 1992 constitution of Ghana.
Art 46 say: “except provided in this constitution or in any other law not inconsistent with this constitution, in performance of its functions, the EC shall not be subject to the direction or control of any person or authority.’’
“So why this demand memo by OOP on the EC,’’ Rockson-Nelson quizzes.
