It seems the issue of witchcraft allegations is still rampant in the Northern part of Ghana as two people, male and female have been lynched over witchcraft accusation leaving the man dead.
This incident took place in Zakpalsi in the Northern Region of Ghana. The woman who has been identified as Imoro Safura was lynched at the palace of the chief while the man was beaten to death in his own house.
According to a trusted source of 1Family Radio, Safura Imoro is in her forties and has seven children. They were lynched because it was alleged that they bought sickness for a young lady in the community.
The witchcraft accusation was allegedly confirmed by a soothsayer after she was consulted by the family of the sick lady.
The youth in the community assembled and went to the deceased man’s resident where they beat him to death.
Imoro, who was stricken with panic when she saw the mob attempted to run to the palace of the chief but she was overpowered and beaten by the mob at the palace.
Addressing the issue, Hajia Lamnatu Adam the Executive Director of Songtaba Organization has appealed to the police to quickly investigate what actually caused the issue.
