Popular Ghanaian Hip life musician and CEO of the NK City Nightclub, Nhyiraba Kojo has been incarcerated by the Sekondi High Court for contempt.
Nhyiraba was convicted after he failed to comply with an injunction order by the court to put a stop to the noise emanating from his nightclub.
A news monitored by 1Family Radio on Citi News indicated that the musician failed to minimize the noise ensuing from his night club despite the interlocutory injunction order by the court and this led to his sentence.
The musician was ordered to serve a full 30-day sentence unless he is able to free himself of the contempt.
It was noted that the petition was filed by Samuel Kofi Dzukey, Nicholas Imbeah and Edmund Sampana Dienorng. The petitioners are residents of Fijai, where Nhyirab Kojo’s nightclub is located.
However, according to Pamela Arvoh-Mensah, the lawyer for the petitioners, Kojo can purge himself of the contempt and escape serving the 30-day sentence.
