Controversial private legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw has accused the former Minister of Environment of being politically immature.
Professor. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, the former CEO of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on illegal Mining (IMCIM) has recently been in the news after a 36-page report implicating some high-ranking government officials of actively involving in illegal mining in the country was released.
According to Maurice, the report by the former minister was birth out of resentment and bitterness following the failure of his committee.
Speaking on his show on Wontumi TV monitored by 1Family Radio, the lawyer stated that the report by Prof. Boateng is a self-serving document which is full of hatred and complains.
“The report is a self-serving document which implies that the document accuses people without giving them the chance to express their views. And as you can see, the report is birthed out of personal hatred, complains and bitterness,’’ he said.
He furthered that there was no need to reveal confidential information in the report. Ampaw stated that Prof. Boateng shouldn’t have implicated Gabby in his report because his call was purposely based legal duties and nothing else.
“How can you indict people just like that without giving them the chance to express their views. If Gabby has called you as a minister to ask about a client, how is this a crime? Confidential information, someone called you about something which doesn’t involve criminality, then you write in this in a report as if the person was involved in a crime.’’
Maurice added that this action by the former minister reveals his immaturity when it comes to political issues.
“What sin did Gabby commit by calling you? You don’t need to bring such a thing to public. This only shows how immature this whole issue is. Sorry I have to say this but it is the truth, Professor Frimpong is politically immature.’’
“You don’t come out to implicate someone after having a confidential conversation with you,’’ Ampaw stated.
