Liu Kun, the Finance Minister of China has assured that the government of China will help Ghana secure a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The Finance Minister of Ghana, Ken Ofori-Atta was reported to have left the country on Sunday, March to have bilateral talks with the authorities of that country.

After discussing about the current state of the economy and measures taken by the government of Ghana to curb the country’s mess, the Finance Minister of China has indicated that they would help Ghana sustain its debt.

“we believe that these are short-term challenges which we as responsible creditors remain obligated to resolving and that the long standing and healthy relationship between Ghana China inflicts on us, a responsibility to help,’’ Liu Kun noted.

Liu Kun furthered, “Chinese authorities have confidence in Ghana’s economic management, and its long-term economic viability.’’

According to Liu Kun, China believes in promoting debt sustainability and sustainable development.
