Joshua Clottey, a Ghanaian former professional boxer also known as the Hitter has declared that he doesn’t regret quitting school to become a boxer.
He made this statement in an interview on JoyNews monitored by 1Family Radio. According to Hitter, being an armature boxer from school he decided to drop out of school because of poverty and he also wanted to concentrate on his boxing career.
Joshua stated that he was an intelligent student and he was always at the first position or the second position in his class and he also managed to complete Junior High School. He furthered that he understands and can also express himself in the English language.
According to him, everybody needs to have knowledge in both life and education. But the most important thing is to have knowledge about life despite the number of certificates or master’s degree you have.
He uttered that he can’t change the fact that he was not able to advance his education, but obtaining the title as the world champion boxer is more than having a master’s degree.
After dropping out of school, his main objective in life is to succeed in the field of boxing which he has being able to accomplish.
He added that becoming the world champion is approximately the same as having a master’s degree. Therefore he doesn’t regret quitting school.
