Obiri Boahen, a Ghanaian lawyer and the former deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party has lamented that on February 7, 2023, military men should be sent to parliament.
He believes that when parliament resumes sittings on that day, there might be disarray in the house because of the replacement of the minority caucus of the NDC.
Obiri Boahen made this statement during an interview on Neat FM which was monitored by 1Family Radio. He is certain that there will be disorder in the house because some of the replaced leaders are not willing to accept this reality. Some supporters of these leaders have also expressed their disagreement with the decision of the NEC.
According to him, the soldiers that should be sent to parliament should be equal to the soldiers sent to war. He furthered that some supporters of Haruna Iddrisu and Mubarak have yet come into terms with the fact that these MPs have been replaced.
He is certain that something will definitely happen on February 7, 2023. This is because Ato Forson has made up his mind to occupy the seat of the minority leader and the supporters of Haruna Iddrisu will not allow anyone to occupy that seat.
Obiri Boahen expressed his displeasure about all this disagreement in the party. He added that we have to learn from the past. He cited that just like the way the Swedru declaration sent the NDC party to opposition, this decision can make or destroy the party.
