Renowned Ghanaian international Evangelist and Economist, Rev. Lawrence Tetteh has opened up on why Greater Accra is occupied by so many foreigners.
According to him, most of our forefathers gave out lands cheaply to foreigners because they were illiterates.
Speaking in an interview on GTV monitored by 1Family Radio, the founder and leader of the World Outreach stated that sometimes he wished Dr. Nkrumah had initiated the free education policy especially in the southern part of the country.
“One notable thing Nkrumah did was giving free education to our brothers from the north and because of this, the northerners are more settled than southerners in the society,’’ he said.
He reiterated that Dr. Nkrumah should have extended the free education policy to the southern part of Ghana.
“Sometimes I wish Nkrumah had extended the free education to those of us in the southern part of Ghana. Some of my great grandparents, uncles and aunties in Dodowa wouldn’t have sold our lands to foreigners if they were educated.’’
“Currently, strangers and non-indigens are living on the Ga-Dangme land because we lacked education,’’ Rev. Lawrence stated.
The man of God continued that our forefathers exchanged our lands for mere bicycles and dead trucks and today our lands are being controlled by strangers.
“The people of the Ga-Dangme were given bicycles and dead trucks and they gave out big plots of land and today our land is being managed by foreigners and strangers,’’ he added.
