Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu has challenged the NDC MPs who voted in favor of the approval of the new ministerial nominees of the president to show up if they are proud of their actions.
According to him, the NDC lawmakers who betrayed the trust of Ghanaians and the party are capable of selling the country for a mess of pottage just like Esau did.
“… ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money,’’ he stated.
In a post shared by Ablakwa on his Facebook page, he stated that these anonymous MPs whom he described as fifth columnist should come out of their rat holes to publicly own up and defend their treachery if they did so with a clear conscience.
The post sighted by 1Family Radio indicated, “the traitors should have mustered courage and exhibited a modicum of sincerity during our numerous strategy sessions by informing us that they disagreed with our fundamental objection to president Akuffo-Addo’s misguided penchant for an obscenely bloated government.”
He furthered that the damaged caused by the treachery of these Judases and Esaus in the minority caucus will take years to repair.
“As we struggle to rebuild confidence in the NDC, may the treacherous elements be exposed and may Good Lord forgive them their trespasses,” he noted.
Okudzeto projected that it will difficult for Ghanaians to trust the NDC with their resources because of this treachery.
“If we cannot be trusted in opposition when the crumbs are at stake, how do we expect Ghanaians to send us into government where we shall be entrusted with all of Ghana’s resources,” Ablakwa quizzed.
He also extended his apology to all Ghanaians in his Facebook post adding that a clear majority of the NDC MPs did not participate in this grand betrayal.
“As heart wrenching as this episode has been, we fervently pray that Ghanaians would not give up on us.’’
Please find a place in your hearts to forgive us and watch us work extra hard like never before, and with the purest integrity as we seek to regain your trust and save our dear country, particularly in this period of self-inflicted economic crisis,’’ he added.
