The 2024 Budget Statement and Economic Policy are being debated by Parliament as of Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
The committee has suggested particular time allocations to guarantee wide participation in the debate: 20 minutes for the ranking members of the finance committee and the seconder, and 15 minutes for all the other members of parliament.
The discussion will be organized into several categories, including local government, youth, sports, tourism, and culture, as well as governance, security, public safety, finance, economy, energy, and infrastructure.
Tuesday is set aside in the proposed schedule for talks about trade, industry, finance, and agriculture.
Wednesday’s topics of discussion will include electricity, highways, housing and construction, sanitation, and the environment. Education, health, jobs, youth, sports, tourism, culture, and government are all on the agenda for Thursday.
Lastly, the focus of the discussion on Friday will be governance, which includes the Electoral Commission, National Commission for Civil Education, local government, judiciary, defense, interior, and Commission on Human Rights and Administration of Justice.
