Controversial media personality and host of Onua Maakye, Captain Smart, has formally resigned from Onua Radio and TV, a subsidiary of Media General.
He declared that he would no longer be hosting the Onua Maakye program during the Monday, November 20, 2023, episode of his morning show, stating that the time had come to pass the reins.
“Let me thank the management of the media general for containing me. My speed is always supersonic,’’ he said during his program, which was monitored by 1Family Radio.
This occurs only a few days after he and Onua radio/TV received a final warning from the National Media Commission (NMC) about an inciting broadcast that the station had previously aired.
On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, the NMC Executive Secretary, George Sarpong, signed a statement describing the aforementioned broadcast as both harmful and unprofessional.
