Gertrude Quashigah, the national coordinator of the School Feeding Program, is said to have kicked the bucket.
We at 1Family Radio have been informed that she passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023.
With her unexpected passing, the former CEO of Ambar Quality Food Limited, who was instrumental in the program, has left a void.
Mrs. Gertrude Quashigah, the CEO of Ambar Quality Foods Limited, was born on February 1, 1960, in Dzelukope, Keta, in the Volta Region. She was not only well-known in the hospitality industry but also made a major impact on the food sector in Ghana.
Her late husband was a former minister in the Kufuor administration under Major Courage E. K. Quashigah (Rtd).
Following her graduation from Keta Secondary Senior High School, Mrs. Gertrude Quashigah went on to undertake postgraduate work in her area of interest.
Throughout her leadership, the Ghana School Feeding Program made significant progress toward granting children all throughout the country widespread access to wholesome meals.
In a letter dated May 18, 2021, the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection removed Quashigah and directed her to turn over any official records or property under her control to the ministry’s chief director.
