Multitalented Worlasi Langani, better known by his stage name Worlasi, has urged Ghanaians to quit mocking and instead value the hard work that some of the country’s best-known artists put into their artistic endeavors.
His remarks are in line with the social media commotion that followed the announcement of the 2024 Grammy Award nominees. A few people had assumed that, given their feats, Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, or Amaarae would be included on the list; however, none of them received a nomination among the candidates.
Following the release, Wolarsi took to his X handle to highlight the hard work that musicians such as Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, and others have put in to become well-known in the world of music.
He said in his post, which 1Family Radio saw, that money is a big component and that these efforts are about more than simply the music, adding that there are people in the background who help these artists succeed.
“If y’all knew how hard it is to get to the level of Stone, Mani, Sark, Shatta, etc. In this’sneaky music business globally, like you go give them dema flowers irrespective,’’ he wrote.
“It’s not even about the music anymore, oh. Background people dey wey den push past the craft itself. It’s not easy, Charlie. Money too is involved,’’ he added.
