The American-Nigerian actress Yvonne Orji, well known for starring in the successful television series “Insecure,” has revealed some startling details about her personal life.
At thirty-nine years old, Yvonne claims she has never known a guy and that she plans to preserve her virginity for her future spouse.
In a recent episode of the podcast Dear Chelsea, which 1Family Radio aired, 39-year-old Yvonne acknowledged that she was still a virgin.
When Chelsea Handler explicitly asked Yvonne, “Are you a virgin?” during their talk, Yvonne answered, “I am,” without hesitation.
She emphasized her resolve to stay celibate until marriage by explaining that her choice to wait for marriage and have sex is based on her Christian faith and personal values.
Yvonne Orji has been open about her decision, saying that she would be happy to talk about it with anyone who has questions or is confused.
She thinks that honest discussions might avert misconceptions and pique people’s curiosity.
“People ask about it because they’re curious, or they may not understand. How will they ever get to understand if I don’t talk about it?’’ She asked.
“I can inform your curiosity, as opposed to everyone being in the dark and creating their own narrative about it.’’
“I sat down with myself and with God and thought, When I make it, how do you want me to represent you while I’m here? It was, ‘Okay, I know why I’m here. It’s to make you proud,’’ she added.
She said that when she chooses to let go of her inhibitions, her future husband should be ready for what’s to come.
“People were like, ‘oh, Yvonne’… Pray for him, whoever he is. There is a lot of pent-up energy up in here with me,’’ she noted.
