The Black Stars of Ghana, who are preparing to play Comoros and Madagascar later this month, have picked André Ayew, a highly accomplished player in his own right, to play once again.
The gifted athlete is one of three players who were absent from the contests against Mexico and the United States but have been named for the next games. Iddrisu Baba and Majeed Ashimeru were the players named with Ayew. Coach Chris Hughton is confident that these players will be included on the anticipated list for the next few games, even if the official list has not yet been released.
Coach Chris is eager to get the Black Stars back to winning ways and win back the confidence of the people after a very ugly October in which they suffered humiliating losses to the USA and Mexico. After suffering a 2-0 loss to Mexico and a 4-0 humiliation at the hands of the USA, the team and coach are under tremendous pressure to win the remaining games in order to qualify for the World Cup.
The nation’s hopes and aspirations for the World Cup will be on the Black Stars as they take on Madagascar in Kumasi and then go to Comoros for round 2 of the qualifiers.
