Kennedy Agyapong, the flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), forfeited his prospects of leading the party due to his actions, especially his outbursts, according to Ghanaian pollster and journalist Ben Ephson.
He claimed that the NPP delegates would refrain from designating Ken as the party’s flagbearer because they knew that swing voters in Ghana would not support him in the presidential election due to his immaturity.
Speaking in an interview on Kofi TV, monitored by 1Family Radio, Ben said that Ken Agyapong lost a lot of support during the NPP’s Special Delegates Conference when he vowed to have a showdown with President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
“Do you suppose the delegates lack wisdom? A lot of them would choose a candidate who would win over undecided voters. I contacted him the night he pulled the showdown and informed him that he had forfeited 10% of his support.
“If people claim that your agent has been attacked or locked, what does that have to do with the nation’s president and vice president?” He enquired.
“Voters who are floating would prefer a politician who can behave responsibly. He said, “This is someone who is following his heart; this is not maturity.”
During the August superdelegates meeting, Kennedy Agyapong launched a straight slam at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
