A flurry of criticism has been aimed at Mzbel’s 10-year-old kid for expressing what some view as blasphemous remarks after he shockingly declared that there is no God.
Mzbel has additionally faced harsh criticism for her failure to raise her child appropriately and instill in him meaningful convictions.
The singer has made it clear that, contrary to what she had previously believed, her son picked up the majority of the things he said about God via the internet, which she was unaware of until he made the statements public.
During an interview on Peace FM, which 1Family Radio aired, Mzbel revealed that her son Okomfo Black had made statements based on information he had discovered online without her knowledge.
“He learns most of the things online because when he asks me about certain things, I don’t have answers. So I tell him to forget because he is a child and there is no need for him to know about those things. He will go online to search for them. I didn’t even know he goes online to check those things,’’ she clarified.
Mzbel added that she was astounded by his response when she asked him shortly after about the statements he had made during the interview.
She maintained that she was unrelated to the startling assertions he made during the interview.
“After the interview, I asked him about what he knew concerning the claims he made, and I was amazed. I don’t intentionally teach him those things. It was once that when he came back from school, he asked me about the local traditions, and I told him we practiced them, that’s all.’’
“We did not talk about religion, whether there is God or not. Before the interview came to light, I asked him why he said ‘there is no God’, and he explained just like he said in the video. So I have not taught him anything,’’ she said.
After the interview, Mzbel reiterated her son’s assertions, asserting that they reject the existence of a supreme being and advising those who disagree to spend some time reflecting on and challenging God.
