In a public apology to former president John Dramani Mahama for what he called unfairness, Kennedy Agyapong, a candidate for the NPP’s flagbearer position, said that he regrets his actions.
He frequently criticized the Mahama administration and participated in the NPP’s campaign in 2016, which ultimately resulted in Mahama’s defeat and made him the first president to lose his attempt for reelection.
Kennedy Agyapong said on Accra-based Starr FM, which 1Family Radio listens to, that despite his relentless assaults on Mahama, he has been an honorable man in their friendship.
“The way he handled me and how I have spoken harshly to John Mahama, I think, have not been fair to him. He is such a wonderful man,’’ he said.
He continued by describing how Mahama’s wife, the former First Lady Lordina Mahama, had frequently praised him and that he was the only potential husband for Lordina if Mahama had not been present.
“I apologize; I am a human being. I think if I recount my relationship with him, all that I want to say is that I am sorry,’’ Ken added.
