Following their 17-year feud, comedian Bright Okpocha, also known by the stage name Basketmouth, has expressed remorse to Ayodeji Richard Makun, professionally known as AY.
On Monday, October 2, 2023, the comedian offered a formal apology in a viral video that was sighted by 1Family Radio on his Instagram page.
Recall that Baskemouth and AY have been making headlines for some time now following their fallout. AY revamped the inception of their dispute in 2023, which subsequently got out of hand.
In a 2021 interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Basketmouth mentioned that he split with AY because “he messed with loyalty”.
In an unexpected turn of events, Baskemouth has since apologized for offending the whole comedy industry, particularly AY.
“To all the people in the industry and beyond that I have offended over time, knowingly or unknowingly, I say this from the bottom of my heart; I am genuinely sorry,’’ he stated.
And to the people who have accused me of doing things that have affected their careers, I am not going to accept or deny these allegations, but please forgive me.’’
“To my guy, AY, I don’t know if my apology is still valid right now, but if it is, please forgive me for whatever I have done or said that affected you in the past. I just want you to forgive me,’’ Basketmouth added.
