Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia’s spokesperson, Gideon Boako, has reacted angrily to a recent statement connecting his boss to the assassination of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein Suale.
On September 19, 2023, Dr. Gideon Boako tweeted in response to remarks Kennedy Agyapong, a member of parliament for Assin Central, had made to the impression that the Bawumia-led Police Council is undoubtedly aware of the assassins of the journalist.
He claimed that it was irrational of Ken Agyapong to link the Vice President to the journalist’s murder in a tweet that was sighted by 1Family Radio.
“I have seen a headline published by the Ghana Post newspaper and some online portals on Ahmed Suale and the Vice President’s name mentioned,’’ he wrote.
“This is simply a reckless statement not befitting of anyone who wants to lead the NPP. Where did we sleep as a party to wake up to this because of elections?’’ Mr. Boako asked.
