Kofi Adu, a seasoned comic and Kumawood actor best known by his stage name Agya Koo, has an intriguing message for Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
The comedian spoke briefly on the achievements of each of the five candidates for the party and the reasons why he believes some of them may not be qualified to be the party’s flagbearer in an interview on One Ghana TV that was monitored by 1Family Radio.
He claims that, notwithstanding Vice President Bawumia’s outstanding achievement in his position, Kennedy Agyapong is the best candidate to lead the party.
“I joined the party to support Nana Addo, and now he’s retiring. No one knows of Bawumia’s residence, but he has put a lot of effort into the party. However, some competitors outperform others in a race. Therefore, it is now time for us to pass the baton to Kennedy Agyapong,’’ he said.
In response to a question about Dr. Bawumia’s potential candidacy in the 2024 election, Agya Koo said, “If Bawumia is hearing, he needs to unwind, rest a little, restrategize, and come back because it is not yet his time.’’
“”Kennedy Agyapong has really helped the party for as long as I can remember, and I really like him because he visits his constituents, listens to their problems, and then tries to help. For some others, we cannot even pinpoint some of the things they have done or can do, so when I consider all this, Kennedy ticks all the boxes,’’ he added.
