John Paintsil, a former West Ham defender, has praised Mohammed Kudus, a fellow Ghanaian who recently joined the Premier League team, for his soccer skills.
Kudus left Ajax on Sunday, August 27, 2023, and signed a five-year deal with the Europa League champions for a hefty sum.
This not only represents a turning point in Kudus’ career, but it also makes him the third Ghanaian to wear the West Ham jersey, after Paintsil and Black Stars captain Andre Ayew.
Paintsil had a two-year stay at West Ham, when he made 19 appearances and got an insider’s look at how the team operated. Given Kudus’ recent displays of talent and competence, notably an impressive hat-trick against Bulgarian champions Ludogorets in the Europa League, he thinks Kudus’ decision to join West Ham is appropriate.
John Paintsil lauded Mohammed Kudus for his decision to join Ham in an interview on Akoma FM, monitored by 1Family Radio.
“Signing for West Ham is a great choice and a good decision taken by the young man,’’ he said.
“West Ham is a big platform with a big family, which opens great doors for every player that joins them.’’
“This decision will help Kudus and his family as well as the Black Stars. And with their inclusion now, their premier league campaign will be a great one,’’ he noted.
