Ghanaian veteran rapper Sarkodie is urging music lovers and stakeholders in the entertainment industry not to be too harsh on emerging artists while they are still learning the ropes.
On Friday, August 4, 2023, Sarkodie used his Twitter (now X) account to discuss the difficulties facing the current generation of musicians breaking into the media-driven society of today.
The landlord claimed in the post seen by 1Family Radio that, in contrast to the current age, people in his generation had more opportunity to make errors and learn from them.
“With my era coming up, we had time to make our mistakes behind cameras and at least work on our approach to this business (how to speak during interviews, stage craft, how to deal with this industry in general).’’
“Still learning, but compared to these young kings coming up, they literally start right in front of our eyes (social and traditional media), and they have to learn to correct mistakes at their peak.’’
“It’s a lot of pressure and sometimes affects their decisions. It’s not easy at all for them. I would urge us to take it easy on them and give them a chance,’’ he advised.
