Four individuals have been taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service in relation to the bullion van heist that took place on June 14, 2023, at Ablekuma Fan Milk.
The van allegedly stopped at a gas station to purchase fuel. The criminals attacked the van at this juncture, which resulted in the police officer’s death.
It is yet unknown if the criminals were successful in stealing the money. According to reports, the van’s driver was unharmed.
On Saturday, July 15, 2023, Lance Corporal Callistus Amoah, the officer who had been killed, was laid to rest.
One of the suspects was apprehended on Saturday, July 15, 2023, according to a police news brief by the Ghana Police Service, monitored by 1Family Radio.
The fourth suspect, Blessing Njoma, was allegedly apprehended thanks to a partnership between the Ghana Police Service and the Togo Interpol. He was taken into custody in Lome’s Asigame market.
Banjamin Ojobge, Rashid Abdul, and a third suspect, whose identity has not yet been revealed, are the three suspects that were detained.
The Kaneshie District Court has remanded the four accused into custody.
