Diamond Michelle, a Ghanaian musician and artist better known as Michy, has opened up about why she chose not to have another child following the birth of her first.

She believed that women should focus on providing more than is essential for their children rather than concentrating on having more children. Furthermore, despite the fact that they are capable and fertile, she cautioned ladies against getting pregnant if they can’t provide for their children.

Speaking in an interview on Onua FM, monitored by 1Family Radio, she stated that women should make sure they can sufficiently provide for the number of children they bring forth.

The current status of the economy, Michy said, was a factor in her choice to delay having children, and she added that it wouldn’t be rational to have another child in these circumstances.

“The current state of the economy makes it difficult to have another child; therefore, in my opinion, rather than having more children, you should work hard to raise one or two wealthy children in a generation rather than four, which will make it difficult to pay for their school fees.’’

‘’Therefore, before having your next child, make sure you’re really stable,” she told women.

Although she admitted that she would like to have a child in addition to Majesty, the timing might not be ideal given the state of the economy.

“I’d really like to, but I need cash. I’ll have more children if God just grants me the money I’m praying for,” she added.

I just want to make sure I can give the kids more than they need,” she added.
