Some sections of Arsenal Fans have expressed their displeasure and disappointment over the club’s decision to replace Thomas Partey with Declan Rice.

These supporters called on other fans to refrain from disparaging Thomas in an effort to endorse the club’s intention to replace him.

Their reaction is in response to statistics provided by the British sports analytics company Opta Sportsdata.

According to the data, only two of the five categories—passing accuracy and interceptions—were won by Declan over Partey.

Partey had a passing accuracy of 88.0%, while Declan had 88.1%. Declan had 1.7 interceptions, compared to Partey’s 1.0.

In the three other categories—tackling, duels success, and progressive carries—Partey outperformed Declan.

With 2.5 wins over Rice’s 2.2, Partey prevailed in tackles. Partey had 58.7 against Rice’s 58.6 in duels won, according to the statistics. Declan had 8.7 carries with the progressive, while Partey had 9.1.

In light of this discovery, some ardent Arsenal fans have urged the club to keep Partey on the roster even after bringing Declan.

Here are some reactions by the Arsenal on Twitter, compiled by 1Family Radio:

Look at Partey man, the disrespect I see some people calling some random French names as replacement, some haven’t realised how difficult it is to play lone 6 in this system. https://t.co/xwDSHaArlf

Idiots want Thomas Partey out. When he’s behind Rice only in “interceptions”. Why not build with Rice and Partey, instead of wanting him out? Deluded lots, these people. Throwing him away now will cost another £50m to replace. So why do that? Common sense >>> https://t.co/bfL5dwqdXh
